How should I wash my clothes?

Answer: Every aspect of the self-service element of the launderette is provided as is, for use solely at your own risk and you are advised to consult care labels and manufacturers’ instructions where applicable. You are strongly advised to check any machine you wish to use prior to placing washing/drying inside. Every effort is made to ensure that machines are kept clean and fit for use, but we cannot guarantee that they will always be so. No liability is accepted for any damage or loss caused as a result of any foreign object interfering with the washing or drying process. Ensure pockets are emptied before use of any machines.

Where can I get change?

Answer: Change is provided as a courtesy by Beauchamp Convenience Store. Please be mindful when asking for change and support local businesses by treating yourself to snack while you wait

How many washing machines are available?

Answer: There are 10 brand new Primus Digital Washing Machines available for use at Beauchamp Laundry Service.

How much does a wash cycle cost?

Answer: Our wash cycle costs vary from machine to machine. For a load in our 7.5kg capacity washing machines the cost is £5. For a load in our 10.5kg capacity washing machines the cost is £6. For a load in our 18kg capacity washing machines the cost is £10.

How long does a wash cycle take?

Answer: It can take on average between 30 to 45 minutes to do a single wash cycle.

How do I use the washing machines?

Answer: To use a Beauchamp Laundry Service washing machine, follow the instructions on the control screen.

What temperature wash cycles are available?

Answer: Our washing machines have 5 different temperature wash cycles: 30°C, 40°C, or 60°C.

Should I bring my own detergent & fabric softener?

Answer: Yes, you should bring your own detergent and fabric softener to clean your clothes at Beauchamp Laundry Service.

What capacity are the washing machines?

Answer: Our washing machines have load capacities of 7.5kg, 10.5kg or 18kg. As the capacity of the average household washing machine is roughly 7.5kg, we have machines for any sized loads.

Answer: We have high, medium and low temperature cycles available on our tumble-dryers.

What capacity are the tumble dryers?

Answer: We have dryers that take 35kg and 50kg loads

General FAQ’s

What should I bring to the launderette?

Answer: Our machines are coin-operated so we recommend you bring coins. Also, we recommend you bring your own laundry basket, detergent and fabric softener. A laundry bag for when your finished may also be useful. Change is available during manned-hours and available from the shops next door at other times.

Can I leave my items why they are washing or drying?

Answer: While you don’t have to wait for your items to finish, any items you bring in to wash/dry yourself should be collected promptly once their cycle has finished. All cycles are timed with remaining time visible on the display. If we need to use a machine that has finished, we will empty the contents and put them aside to await your return. We do not accept any liability for any loss or damage that may occur as a result of doing this.
